The questions we get most
If your question isn't here, email hello@rcrut.com — include your account email so we can look at the actual account rather than guess.
For job seekers
Does Rcrut cost job seekers anything?
I've signed up but I'm not seeing any matches
Who can see my profile, and can I hide from employers?
What happens to my AI interview recording?
Can I retake a skill quiz?
I've hit a limit on applications
I'm not getting notifications
I signed up with Google or Apple and can't get back in
For employers
Why does my job say 'pending review'?
When do I get my shortlist?
When can I see a candidate's contact details?
How do I add colleagues to our account?
Can I feature a role?
How does billing work for employers?
Your data, and how to get rid of it
These rights apply to everyone who uses Rcrut, wherever you live — we don't run a two-tier policy depending on your passport. Formal data-protection requests go to hello@rcrut.com, and we'll never charge you for exercising one.
Get a copy of your data
Ask us and we'll send you a machine-readable export of everything on your account, free, within 30 days.
Correct something wrong
Most fields you can edit yourself in the app. For anything you can't reach — including a score you believe is wrong — email us and we'll correct or re-run it.
Withdraw consent or object
Turn off interview sharing, take yourself out of employer search, or object to automated scoring being used on your profile. Any of these can be done without deleting your account.
Delete everything
Erase your account and the data attached to it. No sign-in required — use the form below.
What deleting your account removes
Everything below goes, permanently. This is not a deactivation and there is no reactivation — if you come back later you start from an empty account.
- Your profile — name, photo, headline, summary, contact details, location, date of birth and gender, links, languages and interests
- Your career history — work experience, education, certifications and licences, projects, volunteering, featured work and recommendations
- Files you uploaded — CV and portfolio documents, certification and featured-work attachments, and your profile photo
- AI interviews — recordings, transcripts, per-question answers, scores and the written summaries generated from them
- Skill quizzes — questions served to you, your answers, scores and bands
- CVs we generated for you, and every version of them
- Your activity — applications, saved jobs, matches, invitations, employer likes of your profile, and any candidate lists you appear on
- Chat — your conversations with employers and the messages in them
- Your AI career advisor — the conversation history and the long-term memory it built about you
- Devices and messaging — registered push tokens and your notifications
- Your login itself, so the email address can no longer be used to sign in
What we keep, and why
We'd rather tell you this plainly than have you discover it later. Four things survive an account deletion:
- Records the law requires us to keep — principally billing, invoicing and tax records for accounts that paid us. We keep the minimum, for the period the applicable law requires, and nothing else rides along with it.
- Fraud, abuse and safety records — if an account was suspended or reported, we keep a minimal record of that decision so the same actor cannot simply re-register. It contains no profile content.
- Aggregate counts — figures like how many times a role was viewed. These are totals with no link back to you and cannot be turned back into a person.
- Copies an employer already holds — if you applied to a company or matched with one, that company received your application and may hold its own copy in its own records. We delete our copy and tell them you've exercised your right to erasure, but we cannot reach into a third party's systems and delete for them. This is the one limit worth knowing about before you apply anywhere.
How long it takes
- Right awayWe acknowledge your request by email, to the address you gave us.
- Within a day or twoWe confirm the request came from the person who owns the account. We have to: acting on an unverified request would let anyone delete anyone else's account. This is usually a single reply to our email.
- Within 30 days of verifyingThe deletion is carried out and we email you to confirm it's done. In practice it's normally the same week.
- Within a further 30 daysYour data ages out of our encrypted backups. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account — only for disaster recovery — and this window is simply how long they're retained.
You don't have to delete everything
Deletion doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. Ask us for any of these on their own and keep your account:
- Delete my AI interview recordings and transcripts, but keep my profile
- Delete my skill-quiz results, or just a single skill
- Delete my chat history with a particular employer
- Delete my AI career advisor history and everything it remembers about me
- Delete a CV you generated for me
- Take me out of employer search but leave my account and matches alone
Choose “Delete specific data” on the form below and tell us which.
Delete your account or your data
Use this form to ask us to erase your Rcrut account, or just part of your data. You do not need to be signed in, and you do not need the app installed — if you've already deleted it, this is the right place.
What happens after you submit
- You get an acknowledgement email straight away.
- We reply to confirm the request came from you — normally you just answer that email.
- We complete it within 30 days of that confirmation and email you when it's done.
- Deletion is permanent. There is no undo and no reactivation.
If you can't use the form
Email hello@rcrut.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. An emailed request carries exactly the same weight as this form and is handled on the same timeline — the form just saves us a round trip.
No longer have access to the email address on the account? Write to us anyway. We'll ask for something else that shows the account is yours rather than refuse the request.
If you work for an employer on Rcrut
This form deletes you — your login and your personal data. It does not close your company's account, delete its job postings or remove its hiring records, and we can't do that on one team member's say-so. To close a company account, an owner should email us from their work address.
Subscriptions, cancelling and refunds
Job seekers are never charged a placement fee — hiring is paid for by employers. The only thing a job seeker can pay for is the optional Premium subscription, and everything essential in Rcrut works without it.
Cancelling on iPhone or iPad
Subscriptions bought in the app are billed by Apple, so they're cancelled in your Apple account — we have no way to cancel one for you.
Manage your Apple subscriptions — or on your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
For a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem. Refunds for App Store purchases are Apple's decision, not ours.
Cancelling on Android
Subscriptions bought in the app are billed by Google Play and cancelled in your Google account.
Manage your Google Play subscriptions — or in the Play Store app: your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions.
For a refund, see Google Play's refund process.
Employer invoicing
Hiring plans and placement fees are invoiced to your company directly by us, not through an app store. For a copy of an invoice, a change of billing details, a PO number or a question about a charge, email hello@rcrut.com from a work address on the account.
Things worth knowing
- Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account or your data. If you want both, cancel with the store first, then send a deletion request here.
- Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a store subscription. Cancel it with Apple or Google or you'll keep being charged.
- Changed phones or reinstalled? Sign in with the same account and use 'Restore purchases' — your subscription follows your store account, not the device.
Charged and don't know why?
Email us the date and amount of the charge and the email on your Rcrut account. We can see what your account is entitled to and when that started, which is usually enough to explain a charge or to confirm that it isn't ours. If the charge came from Apple or Google we'll tell you exactly that, and point you at the right refund route — we'd rather do that than leave you chasing us.
Report a problem, a post or a person
Rcrut carries content written by other people — job posts, profiles and messages. When something on it is wrong, we want to hear about it, and we'd rather have a report that turns out to be nothing than miss one that wasn't.
How to report something
Use the report action on the job, profile or conversation in the app — that way we get the exact item without you having to describe it. If you can't find it, or you've already uninstalled, email hello@rcrut.com with a screenshot and the company or person's name.
What we do with it
A person reviews every report. We take down posts that break our rules, and we suspend accounts that do it deliberately or repeatedly. You'll hear back from us. Anything involving someone's safety goes to the front of the queue — put “URGENT” in the subject and we'll look the same day.
Security issues
Found a vulnerability, or a way to see data that isn't yours? Email hello@rcrut.com with “Security” in the subject. Please give us a chance to fix it before you publish it. We won't come after anyone acting in good faith.
What's worth reporting
- A job post that looks like a scam, asks you for money, or isn't a real vacancy
- A job post with discriminatory requirements, or pay and terms that aren't what was advertised
- An employer or a recruiter behaving inappropriately in chat
- A candidate profile that's impersonating someone, or isn't a real person
- Anything abusive, harassing, hateful, sexual or threatening
- Someone you believe is under 18
No legitimate employer will ask you for money
Recruitment fraud is the most common thing we see aimed at job seekers in this region. Some rules that hold almost without exception:
- Nobody should ask you to pay for a visa, a placement, training, a uniform or a background check as a condition of being hired.
- You should never have to send a copy of your passport or your bank details to get an interview.
- An offer that arrives with no interview, for far more money than the role is worth, is not an offer.
- Rcrut will never ask you for a payment, and we will never ask you for your password.
If something like this reaches you through Rcrut, report it — we want that employer off the platform.
When the app is misbehaving
Nine times out of ten it's an out-of-date build or a permission the app was never granted. Start here, and if none of it helps, the last card tells you exactly what to send us so we can fix it on the first reply instead of the third.
The app won't open, or closes immediately
My AI interview won't start, or the camera is black
My interview recording failed to upload
I'm not receiving push notifications
I can't sign in
Something looks wrong on my profile or my CV

Where AI is used, and where it isn't
We use AI to read your profile, score practice interviews and skill quizzes, rank matches, and draft CVs. Those scores are a signal for employers, not a verdict — no hiring decision on Rcrut is made by a model on its own, and an employer always decides who they talk to.
If you think a score is wrong, or you'd rather automated scoring wasn't applied to your profile at all, email hello@rcrut.com. A person will look at it.
